Wire Rope Lifting System

The Wire Rope Lifting System is an economical lifting loop for utility type structures. It is used in either face or edge lifts applications and is 'mucked' into the surface of the concrete. The galvanized wire rope is formed in a figure-8 shape, with the ends of the rope secured by a positive swaged clamp, and a steel band at approximately the midpoint to establish the proper shape. The Wire Rope Lifting System is embedded 2/3 of its length into the concrete. The hardware must be standard hook or clevis with a diameter at least twice the rope diameter. Each anchor has a color-coded tag which identifies the SWL (safe working load) in tension of the anchor.

  • Mucked into surface – no recess members required by the precaster.
  • Uses standard jobsite Crosby Hooks – no hardware purchases required by precaster.

Special Lifting Loop

Special Lifting Loops or 8 type Lifting Loops are a popular lifting system where the operator can use the same loop to lift the Precast element vertically up or also, to tilt the element to an angle of 90ᵒ from the casting bed before the vertical lift.

Two Hole Anchors

The Two -Hole anchor is simple, but for universal use. This allows the lifting of very thin and/or low concrete compressive strength panels. The load is distributed into the concrete by the reinforcement rebar inserted through the bottom hole which distributes the tension forces, developed from the lifting process, deep into the precast concrete.

Ring Clutch

The Ring Clutch consists of a clutch body, a curved bolt and a high-strength bail. Installation and release is safe and simple. After the clutch is inserted over the anchor head and into the recess, the curved bolt is rotated into the closed position. Rotation of the standard bail is a full 360°. Once engaged and supporting four hundred pounds of load, the ring clutch cannot be released.

Backup rods

Backup rods are the flexible, readily compressible, open-cell polyurethane backup strip for silicone sealants. These materials are used to achieve correct depth of the sealant and act as a bond breaker, avoiding adhesive sealant to the bottom of the joint. It cures under the influence of atmospheric moisture to form an elastomeric material with adhesive properties, in some cases without the need for priming of the substrate.

Tie wire refers to Galvanized Iron Wire popularly called G.I. tie wire. Tie wire is used to secure the steel bars in its designed position. Ordering tie wire is not by feet nor by meter length but in kilograms or roll. The Tie Wire is cut in whichever length as suited to the job at hand. The length of each tie wire also depends upon the size of the bars to be tied on. However, tie wire is cut into length ranging from 20 to 40 centimeters for small and medium size steel bars.

INSTALLATION

  • Retrofit of Manholes:
  • Drilled holes: Use a masonry bit to drill a 25mm hole. The holes should be kept parallel (330 mm distance) and 70mm deep.
  • Formed Holes: use a 25mm pipe to form holes in the "green" product. Remove dust from the hole and apply cementitous or epoxy grout with a compressive strength equivalent to the concrete to tails of steps and inside holes.
  • Step leg to drive into the holes evenly with alternative sledge hammer blows. Do not hit step in the centre. Do not use step until grout / epoxy has set or cured.
  • The steps can also be fixed before the concrete sets / hardens in wall, manholes and swimming pools etc.

 

 

T-Liner

T-Liner is an extra -tough, specially formulated plastic sheeting that locks mechanically into the interior wall of concrete sewer pipes, tunnels or manholes during manufacture or rehabilitation, providing a flexible corrosion barrier that will withstand decades of severe service. It's an unbeatable, cost-effective combination: the corrosive resistance of the T-Lock and the strength and durability of concrete. Around the world, over 250 million square feet of T-Lock lined sewer pipe are in the ground. T-Liner helps protect the environment from harsh chemicals and oils that could otherwise pollute the ground if a T-Liner is not present. It forms a chemical resistant barrier.

Plastic Welding Strips

Plastic Welding strips are supplied in HDPE and PVC material based on the client's requirement. The Strip comes in a standard width of 10cms and 15 meters length. It is used to join / fill the spaces between the liners to make the plastic insulation 100% inside the element – Manhole, Culvert etc. The installation is done either by Hot Air Welding or Extrusion Welding. For Hot air welding, you would need a Hot Air Blower, a One Arm Pressure Roller and a Quarter Moon Knife. For Extrusion Welding, an extrusion welder will be sufficient. Also refer to the plastic welding tools section to learn more about these tools for installation of Plastic Strips.

 

Plastic Welding Rods

A plastic welding rod, also known as a thermoplastic welding rod, is a rod with circular or triangular cross-section used to bind two pieces of plastic together. They are available in a wide range of colors to match the base material's color.

Types of Plastic Welding Rods include ABS,FEP, LDPE, PP, HDPE, Petg, PVDF, PFA, PVC & PU Welding Rod.

 

 

 

HDPE OR PVC

HDPE and PVC are the most commonly used plastics for various civil works. But the choice of the plastic is solely based on the client who considers various factors including the weather, the nature of the medium that will come in contact with the plastics etc.

HDPE or High Density Polyethylene has a greater mass density than that of PVC. HDPE gives a stronger intermolecular force and tensile strength. It is also harder and more opaque and can withstand somewhat higher temperatures.

PVC is a more flexible plastic and is an economical choice for working at lower temperatures.

Detectable Warning Tapes are a corrosion-resistant, designed for the protection and location of non-metallic or low metal underground cables and pipes. The detectability of this tape gives the operator on the job site a more simplified and practical method of locating buried cables / pipes. All Global DWT® tape meets or exceeds the industry standards including the American Public Works Association (APWA) color code. Detectable tapes consists of a 9 micron solid foil core coated by a protective jacket which has sufficient strength to prevent separation by hand. The material and ink colours will not change when exposed to alkalis, acids and other destructive chemicals usually found in the soil – it is chemically inert. It is a permanent ink and cannot be removed by normal handling or upon long term underground burial.

Hot air welding is one of the most important and in addition oldest procedure for thermoplastics and is usually applied for fusion of PE, PP, PVC and, ABS and PMMA. Hot gas welding can be efficiently used for thin components (up to 5mm material thickness). Plastic Welding Strips

Plastic Welding strips are supplied in HDPE and PVC material based on the client's requirement. The Strip comes in a standard width of 10cms and 15 meters length. It is used to join / fill the spaces between the liners to make the plastic insulation 100% inside the element – Manhole, Culvert etc. The installation is done either by Hot Air Welding or Extrusion Welding. For Hot air welding, you would need a Hot Air Blower, a One Arm Pressure Roller and a Quarter Moon Knife. For Extrusion Welding, an extrusion welder will be sufficient. T-Liner

T-Liner is an extra -tough, specially formulated plastic sheeting that locks mechanically into the interior wall of concrete sewer pipes, tunnels or manholes during manufacture or rehabilitation, providing a flexible corrosion barrier that will withstand decades of severe service. It's an unbeatable, cost-effective combination: the corrosive resistance of the T-Lock and the strength and durability of concrete. Around the world, over 250 million square feet of T-Lock lined sewer pipe are in the ground. T-Liner helps protect the environment from harsh chemicals and oils that could otherwise pollute the ground if a T-Liner is not present. It forms a chemical resistant barrier.
